Cressing Temple takes its unusual name from the medieval monks of the Knights Templar who founded the two vast wooden barns, which form the centrepiece of this delightful rural estate.

Cressing Temple is a historic site set in the heart of Essex and a popular location for weddings.

The site dates back to the 12th century and is home to the two finest Templar barns in Europe. These stunning barns provide the perfect backdrop for any wedding, civil partnership or renewal of vows.

Cressing's 17th century Farmhouse provides a peaceful environment for the bride-to-be to make her final preparations and the beautiful Tudor Walled Garden is an ideal backdrop for those all important photographs.

About Marks Hall Country Estate
For many years a sought-after location for wedding receptions and other celebrations, in 2009 Marks Hall acquired a licence to hold civil wedding ceremonies. The 17^th century Coach House is a beautiful building, adding hugely to the atmosphere of the occasion. A gazebo constructed in the flower garden is available for those preferring to exchange their vows surrounded by nature.

The Coach Housecan accommodate up to 120 seated guests or 200 for a buffet reception. Its French windows provide access to the terrace overlooking the formal gardens, which are in bloom from May to September.The Arboretum, ornamental lakes, cascades and the 17th century walled garden are all accessible to guests.The views across the grounds are stunning and provide a perfect backdrop for photographs to cherish.
